What Could Cause An Unpleasant Pain In The Upper Right Chest That Worsens While Moving Or Bending?

Question: I have a rather unpleasant pain in the right upper part of my chest. This pain worsens when I move or bend.
I strained when opening a sofa bed on Thursday night and I felt discomfort yesterday, but it seems a bit worse tonight. I took both ASA & ibuprophen and the darn pain is still there.

Hello,

Your symptoms suggestive of musculoskeletal pain. It can be due to muscle strain or ligament injury. I suggest you complete the course of anti inflammatory medication. It's better if your anti inflammatory medication include serratiopeptidase as well in addition to ibuprofen.

Moreover you can practice following home care for muscle strain.
_ Avoid activities that aggravate pain
_ Hot compress can be applied over affected part frequently
_ Take enough rest including 8 hour sleep
_ Take healthy nutritional diet including fruits and green leafy vegetables more
_ Take sleep in supine position

If no improvement within week then you have to consult orthopedic surgeon for examination. The surgeon will suggest you then to investigate with X ray or ultrasonography of chest to do further work up.
