Question : Hi doc, my 10 day old baby got a bloody discharge around naval.the remains of umbilical chord had come off properly as expected.butvthis reddish brown discharge is there.anything to worry.attaching pic

Hi,

I would insist you not to grow anxious and to administer some antibiotic ointment like Neosporin or Betadine. However, I would insist you to take the child to a doctor so that he would be able to administer a dose of Inj. Vitamin K (1 mg) intramuscularly. That should take care of the issue.
