Question : I have recurring very hot sweats 71 so not menopause and no fever. This has been an issue for about six weeks. Then I get terrible cold chills. I've had a hemmoragic stroke(4 years ago) and have been diagnosed with Parkinsonism. Have severe osteoarthritis and back and hip pain. Last night I experienced excruciating stomach pain just below my ribs. It felt like a severe muscle spasm. I took otc vitamin c in a powder form (lots of carbonation) to prevent a cold which has been trying to take hold. I don't know if these symptoms could be related. I take carbidopa for tremors/tizanidine for muscle spasms in neck and arms/gabapentin also for nerve pain/citalopram for anxiety and recently my pain DR prescribed tramodol which I use very sparingly, though I took one last night due to the severe pain in my stomach. Can you help me??

Brief Answer:
Sweating causes and stomach pain caused by ibuprofen.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

About the stomach pain you mentioned above I think it is caused by gastroduodenal ulcers. The long term usage of ibuprofen favorites the creation of gastroduodenal ulcers. I think you should do a phybroscopy (a camera tube inserted in stomach) to see the stomach mucosa.

You can use OTC antacids to prevent the pain from reoccurring but also need treatment with PPI (omeprazole) and antibiotics (metronidazole and clarithromycin) with doctors prescription.
The sweating may be caused by different conditions such
* Infections (HIV, tuberculosis) etc.
* Blood diseases such Non Hodgkin lymphoma
* Thyroid issues such hyperthyroidism
You should do a total blood count and blood formula. Also, you should check thyroid by doing T3, T4, and TSH.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
