                                    Brief Answer:
Very likely due to indigestion.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Color of stools is given by a pigment called stercobilinogen which is formed as a result of degradation of bile. When ever a person has infection or inflammation in gut; The rate of peristalsis increases therefore bile is not properly broken down.
I would suggest you to take Imodium 4mg thrice daily for 2 days along with any over the counter probiotic. Wait for 2 days if the stools are still black then proceed for stool test(for occult blood).
Regards!
