What Could Cause Painful Swelling On The Face And Hands Along With The Veins On My Hands?
Question: Last night my face and hand swelled up along with the veins in my hand were swollen and painful. what could of caused this

Hi,
There are few possibilities here, if you were preciously healthy, and you had no problem in hands or face before, and the swelling occurred in a single night ,this looks to be an allergic reaction (like angioedema or contact dermatitis). So I would just like to know if you have taken any new medicine recently, or any new things used, that could have caused the swelling. However such swelling should be gradually decreasing now.
Insect bite would be another possibility.
A very unlikely but serious thing that can be there is that if there is a blocked vein or artery that might have caused it but it should be much more troublesome and could hardly be born.
What ever if you have any sign of difficulty in breathing or feeling very sick or if the swelling is getting worse, you should immediately report to the ER.
Rarely if can be caused by kidney problem , so i would be glad if you could tell us if there is any change in your urine.
