What Could Cause Severe Hip Pain And An Extremely Painful Rash While On Prednisone And Antibiotic For Strep Throat And Ear Infection?

Question: On May 13th I had strep throat and and ear infection. I took my antibiotic as prescribed but I still had pressure in my ear. My PA said the tube that runs from my ear to my nose (I forget the name) was swollen and prescribed Pednisone. I also took all of this as prescribed. However as I was finishing this up around day 10 or 11. I started having severe pain in my hip. It felt like a tooth ache in my bone. I had no range of motion issues. But there was no comfortable position at all. This needed abruptly but then I woke up with a weird rash that is extremely painful to touch. And my left ankle is swollen, without any injury. Maybe none of this is related. But thought I should include everything.
Brief Answer:
Possible steroid related side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am
I can certainly understand your concern
I have worked through your attached query in detail
Many of your symptoms are possibly related to side effects of steroid medications ( Prednisone).
It's advisable to gradually reduce the dosage and finally stop the drug.
Many of the symptoms will improve with this.
A short course of oral analgesic medications will help to improve your symptoms.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.
Post your further questions if any
