Question: Hi, I am 66 and have had slight bleeding from the vagina for a few days

I have had some light bleeding I am 66 I have had a hysterectomy so what could it be?

Hi,

There are different changes that can occur in the vagina that can cause bleeding to occur.
In most persons it is not related to a serious cause.

Some of the most common causes are- (1)vaginal atrophy- the vaginal degenerate/decline after menopause and are at risk of intermittent bleeding
(2)vaginal infection
(3)trauma
(4)benign growths in the vagina
(5)rarely vaginal cancer

You should consider assessment by your doctor to find the cause. This would involve history of this and any related symptoms as well as physical examination.

In most persons, the cause is not serious
