Question : I have been getting stabbing, aching, pinching pain in the area circled in the picture since January. it comes and goes, somedays I don't feel it. I went two weeks without it and it came back. sometimes I get pain around the side into the back of that area. my blood work was fine, UA fine, xray showed chronically constipated. I sometimes feel it right under my left breast and really scared its my heart. I've had multiple ekgs and and echo in the past last EKG was in dec. sometimes the stabbing happens when I bend over or stand up from sitting. its also painful to lay on that side sometimes. I will feel it also every now and then when I take a deep breath. any suggestions? my anxiety had been horribly high thinking this is suffering serious and my dr isn't doing anything about it. I wake up and go to sleep worrying about it.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

First of all I would like to assure you that it's not cardiac pain so just relax. As you said that all your EKG as well as Echo studies were normal and keeping your age and nature of symptoms in mind the possibility of cardiac disease is minimal.

It's basically your stress and anxiety which is making things worse for you. In my opinion you should start practicing yoga / meditation daily in order to overcome your stress levels.

Hot fomentation, local analgesic sprays will just be fine to deal with this as it's just muscular in nature.

I hope this information will relieve your worries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, it can persist even for months on and off. One more thing which you can go for is a chest X-ray to rule out any underlying chest pathology which could be causing this discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you.
