Question : My father, my son, and me all have symptoms of sudden cold sweats, weakness, and a general feeling of heaviness. (I have actually collapsed from this) My father says it is hypo-glosimia. None of us are diabetic. Is this a need for sugar?
Brief Answer:
Hi
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
Noted your problem.
These symptoms could be due to a number of reasons. Thyroid problems top the list. Other things to rule out are rare familial conditions like familial hypoglycemias, MEN-1 syndrome, carcinoid syndrome etc.
You may need to meet an endocrinologist. During these episodes, if you do a blood sugar test, that will be extremly helpful. If the blood sugar is low during these episodes, then we need to do other tests.
Do these symptoms improve on eating sugary food ?
