Detailed evaluation is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Mucus is very very unlikely. As per your description it seems that you are having abdominal distension that could be due to gastric juices rather than mucus. Thick gastric secretions may be mistaken for mucus.
There are many causes for this condition, First of all we have to rule out conditions like intestinal obstruction which is more serious than others and may require early intervention. Most probably it could be due to gastric reflux.
I suggest you to consult a nearby doctor and get the following done:
Do not eat or drink anything until we make a conclusion and until we rule out obstruction.
Get an X-ray abdomen and ultrasound scan done to rule out bowel pathology.
Get pantoprazole infusion to suppress acid reflux.
If symptoms are severe an endoscopy may be needed.
Consult a GP and he will direct you accordingly.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
