Brief Answer:
Needs further investigations.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Based on the facts that you have posted you have passed blood in urine (Hematuria) and needs to be investigated in detail.

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments:
1) Is it a frank blood in urine or few RBC detected on microscopic examination of urine?
2) Do you have pain in abdomen associated with hematuria?
3) Are you taking any blood thinner medications like Aspirin, Clopitrogel etc?
4) Are you diabetic?

Please revert back. I shall try to address your issues. Narrowed urethra cannot cause hematuria.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Presence of bacteria suggests UTI.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Presence of bacteria suggests infection mostly of the bladder (Cystitis) which can cause blood in urine (Hematuria).

Get your urine culture done to find out the nature of the organisms( Bacteria) causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily. Later on, switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family physician. Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hope I have answered your query, please feel free to ask if you have more questions, I shall be happy to help you.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It could be non-bacterial cystitis

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thanks for uploading routine urine and urine culture report which shows presence of RBC in urine.

This could be due to what is called as Non Bacterial Cystitis which is common in females at the Peri Menopausal age.

Get the CT Scan done and do write after you get the report.

In the mean while start taking medications suggested in my earlier reply.

Thank you.

Ultrasound Scanning being normal there is no possibility of cancer

Hello,

With ultrasound scanning being reported to be normal there is no possibility of cancer .However possibility of parenchymal kidney disease has to be ruled out by investigations for which you will need to consult qualified nephrologist.

What are symptoms of kidney disease and what are the main ones... Would it show up in urine blood or ultrasound testing

Answered by Dr. Dr. P. T. Patil (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Need to consult a qualified nephrologist

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Presence of RBC is itself one of the symptoms of glomerular kidney disease and needs detailed investigations.

I would suggest you to discuss with your Urologist to do endoscopic examination of bladder (cystoscopy) to rule out any local pathology in bladder like cystitis before you consult a nephrologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Urine is being sent to lab to check for abnormal cells what can that test detect from the cells

Been having blood in urine for the last 2 Years and each time they can’t find anything

Answered by Dr. Dr. P. T. Patil (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Abnormal cells (RBC) indicate glomerulonephritis

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Presence of abnormal RBC (Dysmorphic RBC) is one of the important tool to diagnose glomerulonephritis (kidney disease).

Doing a endoscopic examination of bladder (cystoscopy) coupled with test to detect dysmoprphic RBC will help to differentiate whether origin of RBC is from kidneys or lower urinary tract (bladder).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
