What Could Cause Weight-gain Despite Loosing Twelve Pounds?

Question: I have been on a weight loss program for 6 months. I have lost 20+ pounds. I am still true to the program but in the last three weeks I have gained back 12 lbs. I saw my doctor. Had tests. Every thing is find...I am ready to give up. What can be happening? The program is through my clinic called, Ideal Protein. I noe weight 212!

Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern. Weight loss is possible only when the intake of calories is less than the calories spent.
You may be eating the same food but the calories would depend on the serving size. The fast foods and sodas are very rich in calories and therefore even a little of these would upset the balance and lead to weight gain. Doing the same exercise will not be as effective as varying the type and speed of doing the exercise.
It's also important for you to relax and have good stress management through relaxation techniques like yoga.

Ideal Peotein requires me to measure my food. I exercise four days a week for one hour, usually on the treadmill. I have followed the diet TO THE LETTER and lost 20+ pounds but gain back 2 pounds a day for almost 2 weeks. This cannot be normal. I need help! What kind of can I see?specialist

It would be good to see an endocrinologist who would be able to check you regarding hypothyroidism or Cushing's syndrome which leads to weight gain.
