Question : Hi My name is Arleth and my boyfriend has a lump on his leg , close to his genital area , he says he has had them before but they go away but when he gets them he says it’s painful when you mess with it and sometimes painful to walk with . the lump seems like a decent size and i knew i had to ask because i am worried ! what could this be ? should i be worried ???

* As per my surgical experience, the lump on leg close to genital area
sounds more likely to be benign condition as sebaceous cyst or follicle
enlargement most likely involving the subcutaneous tissue of the area.
* The clinical features of the same are
- it is absolutely harmless condition, only becomes painful when there is
some sort of inflammation or minor infection in it
- it is not contageous and hence nothing to worry during sexual play ( if
involved )
- he can get consultation with his primary care for its therapy and definite
cure ; till that time, local application of ice and analgesic tablets may give
comfort in painful periods.
