Brief Answer:
no specific diet can continue your normal diet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

You can have a normal diet there is no specific diet which will prevent or treat atrophic gastritis.
You will need treatment for H pylori bacteria (if tested positive by biopsy or blood/stool test).
You will need esomeprazole for a long duration if your symptoms persist or recur.
Avoid alcohol, tobacco and pain killers as these might aggravate the erosions

Hope this helps

Thank you Doctor for your response. This time around the H pylori came out negative ( Previously in most cases it has been positive and i was put on the Pylo kit treatment).

I stopped drinking two years ago after i started having stomach problems and i dont smoke.

emphasis from the hospital i went to, was diet, but its been over 1 year now that i have been eating soft food, no spicy and oily foods, no carbonated drinks but i still experience bloating and rumbling in my stomach.

Sometimes even after taking anti acids and esomeprazole i still experience the bloating and rumbling.

The major symptoms i experience is bloating and the rumbling noise ( but no vomiting or diarrhea). And in most cases, the bloating comes with feeling weak and my eyes feel slightly ichy and red.

Please advise

Brief Answer:
continue esomeprazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

As discussed earlier. There are no dietary restrictions for atrophic gastritis.

But if you have symptoms of bloating and dyspepsia you might have non ulcer dyspepsia and abdominal bloat you should avoid, deep fried food, red meat, caffeine, chocolate, carbonated drinks as these might worsen the symptoms. Regular exercise helps.
I would advise to continue esomeprazole for a longer period of time
A prokinetic like domperidone might help.
