Question : What do I need to know before, during and after surgery. (example: how long to recoup/not need help at home)

It depends on the procedure.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

The amount of rest that you have to take,recovery time will depend on the procedure.
If the kidney stone is removed surgically by giving an Incision,it will take more time for recovery.
If it is removed by Laser/ Lithotripsy it will take less time.
Nothing to worry.

If it's by the knife, is recouping a week, several weeks?
If lithotripsy or laser is is 24 hours or a week.

Are ther residual problems after surgery?

Hi,

With Lithotripsy, you can go to work in a week.
With Open Surgery,it depends on the Individual.It may range from 2 to 3 weeks.
There will be no residual problems after surgery.
