What Do Abnormal Sensations In The Clitoris Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Jul 2015
Question: Hello,
I have been having sensations in my clitoris for a little while now. It comes and goes from day to day but now is causing me to feel very anxious.
I have recently come off the pill and have not yet had a normal period cycle. Would you say this is just hormonal and it will pass?
I think that due to the anxiousness I am thinking of it more often and then I start to feel it again. It feels like I am beginning to have an organism but then it will pass. Sometimes I get pain in it too. Please help. I have never suffered from this before and have lost 7 pound from anxiety.

Brief Answer:
There is nothing abnormal. No need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query. The first thing that I will insist is not to panic. Probably due to your apprehension, you are handling your clitoris too much. In fact, probably the original sensation was just a normal over-sensitivity due to touch with fabric or something else but probably your handling is making it sore. Since it is an erogenous zone, handling it could give you orgasms and there is nothing abnormal about it. But please do not become obsessive about the sensations in your clitories. It could have relationship to the hormonal changes that your body is undergoing following your going off pills. Do not worry, it is just hormonal and should be ok in a few months.

You need to learn to relax. Stress and anxiety are the killers of today's age. Mingle with people and keep yourself busy and occupied. If you would have other priorities, chances are that you would stop paying attention to things like these. Staying happy and tension free will help you stay healthy.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much.
Deep down I know that there is nothing wrong. I orignally thought it was a urine infection as i seem to be passing urine alot. Me and my husband had oral sex around four weeks ago and then we also used a vibrator on my clitoris. (Which is a new thing hence the concern)
Whenever i have a clitiral orgasm i always drink plenty of water after it as im worried about getting a UTI (i have had uti's in the past and they seem to come after clitoral stimulation during sex, obviously not every time but 2,3 times)
So therefore i always drink plenty of water and then i always do lots of wees!

The clitoral pain/feelings comes more when i think about it and get anxious about it. We have stopped having sex in hope that things would settle down but we are trying for a baby so maybe i have been slightly more aroused recently.

I read online about restless genital syndrome and this has started the panic attacks as i thought i had that. However im not actually having an orgasm i am just very aware that i have a clitoris and it just feels throbbing at times almost.
Today it has been a bit painful but then i seem to forget about it if im busy. I have been putting vasoline on and around the hood of the clitoris. Shall i stop this?
Do you think it is ok to have sex with my husband but maybe just leave the clitoris for a little while?

Thank you very much. I am really trying to cope with the axiety but its hard when i can still feel discomfort underneath. I had a big period about 2 weeks ago and that was my first period in 4 months so do uou think it could be associated with this and hormone changes?

Thank you, you have made me feel better.
Regards

Ps i have thrown away the vibrator as i thought it could be associated with that! We got married in december and bought it for our honeymoon and have used it XXXXXXX 5 times since being home.

Healthy living habits are all you need.

I undertand your situation. You need not panic about your condition. UTI are common to occur in females and although there is a possibility of the organisms getting passed by any form of touch including the ones you do to check whether things are fine.

Thank you. I am still very anxious about it this morning. Could it be linked to thrush? Can you get thrush that affects the clitoris?
I have been having very watery discharge and do usually get thrush from taking antibiotics.
Never had pain in my clitoris from thrus before but it could have spead to my clitoris.

Brief Answer:
Thrush of clitoris seems unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Although many females often get thrush, especially after antibiotics, in your case it is unlikely to be due to thrush affecting the clitoris. However, if you are apprehensive, get an appointment from your gynecologist and get yourself examined.

Feel free to write back in case of further queries.
