What Do Bumps Near Anus Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: I had sex last weekend after using a crappy razor. I think the friction caused a breakout of these white bumps filled with pus that were easily poppible by Tuesday. However Monday I had developed symptoms of a UTI. I went to doctor Tuesday afternoon and took a urinalysis. No white blood cells and no UTI bacteria were found. I was prescribed 3 day antibiotic. I had to call for a reup today for three more days as now I have these same bumps around the entire outside of my anus. I didn't have anal intercourse. So here we are Friday, my original bumps are still healing, I have anal bumps now, no burning or pressure anymore with urination but now my pelvic lymph nodes are super swollen and have general discomfort all down there. And I started my period on Monday..

Brief Answer:
could be due to reaction to razor blade

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic .

The bumps near anus and near vagina could be either due to reaction to razor blade or infection of cut wounds by having intercourse . Though you didn't had anal sex but this is possible wherever you have used the blade.

The swollen lymph nodes are due to infection . Those will come down when the bumps heal . I suggest you to consult your doctor again and continue antibiotics till the bumps near anus heals and also get blood sugar levels done. Sometimes undiagnosed diabetes cause healing problems and easy infection .

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.

After researching herpes I check out on a lot of these symptoms for herpes. I'm quite certain I'm in my first outbreak.

I have all these - Sores, bumps, or blisters in the genital area/ Pain around the genitals, buttocks/ Itching or burning during urination (antibiotic is currently helping keep this under control)/ Swollen lymph nodes in the groin/ just no Fever or headache but can't really sleep. I guess I can assume my partner didn't know he had herpes or didn't want to tell me. Idk. I shaved everywhere I had bumps even close to the anus but I doubt a razor would cause all this pain. It seems to be getting worse instead of better.

Brief Answer:
possibility is there

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Possibility is there that your partner may be having herpes. But he should be having some lesion either active or healing to transfer it to you. People try to hide such things. But you said you have shown to doctor. Herpes is diagnosed by clinical examination. So I don't think your doctor can miss it.

But since your condition is not improving with antibiotics much this goes in favor of either herpes or resistant to antibiotics.

I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get diagnosed and then you may start anti herpes treatment.

Even bacterial infection in the cut area cause multiple bumps and sore and micturition burning but pattern of herpes is unique which can be diagnosed by examination.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help .

Unfortunately there was no physical examination on Tuesday as the bumps just looked like 6 white heads developing and I didn't think much of them. It was only a urine test which was inconclusive apparently to a uti. Doc prescribed Bactrim anyway. But yes I will have to go back asap to be checked out.

Brief Answer:
consult soon

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Consult your doctor soon and get examined for proper disgnosis and treatment. That is necessary. Once herpes is diagnosed then treatment may be started. It is curable with drugs don't worry. Keep the area clean.
