Brief Answer:
Please, what are the units of measurement?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these results and all the disturbing thoughts this must have caused you. I have reviewed the information fully. If possible, please specify the units of measurement of creatinine or upload the test result to me for a second review.

However, this number seems high and an estimated GFR of 38 shows that the kidneys are not functioning at their best. If you have any other disease condition like diabetes, hypertension, etc., this may explain why the kidneys are failing to work at their best.

In all, these results are suggestive of a failing kidney function. Risk factors such as high loos pressure, diabetes, etc would need to be managed very well. Also, avoid medications that can harm the kidney such as Tylenol when not needed. If you have previous results to which these can be compared, I will very much appreciate that you report to me.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

I believe that the units of measurement are umols/l
Results from January 2014
Serum creatinine 93umol/l
GFR 52ml/min/2.73m2
HbA1c 61Jan,55July and56Jan2015
Haemoglobin Jan14was136,but now I am on iron tablets.
I feel very tired all the time and keep falling asleep.
I use CPAP every night.
I had to give up work because I was too tired.
I just feel old and done and my friends can't believe that I've changed from being the most active and energetic one in our group to just needing to sleep all the time.
My blood pressure has been consistently high but I now attend a hypertension clinic and it is starting to improve.

Brief Answer:
Your kidney function is deteriorating!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this precision. The previous results show that your kidney has not been at its best. Please, if you do not have a nephrologist on board, you urgently need one. All the risk factors need to be managed aggressively to preserve as much kidney function as possible.

Being tired is consistent with this diagnosis. However, it is my thinking that continued aggressive management of all possible aggravating factors would slow down the kidney disease and help you regain some of your energy.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to keep the discussion going if need be.

Just one final question.
Do I fight against the tiredness or just give in to it?

Brief Answer:
Never give in to illness!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Please, fight the tiredness as much as you can. never give in to illness. If you give in, you will never get out of it. I believe anemia is contributing to this and as you continue the iron tablets, all will slowly get better.

Keep me updated.
