What Do Floaters In Vision Indicate?

Question: i went to see the eye doctor thursday he said eye pressure is high i think 40 he put drops several times in my eyes in about 4 hrs and gave me drops to put every hour starting that night i am seeing floaters and flashing lights night time is it normal

i see floater in front of each eye which started thursday evening and flashing lights next day but i see these lights beside both eyes night time only

the doctor will set up my appnt with the specialist and call me they said it will be in about 2 to 3 weeks

Detailed Answer:
It is glaucoma and floaters in eye. Field tracing should be done and with fundus examination, cup disc ratio to be noted. For glaucoma, oral and drop application can be opted and surgical option is available. Before that, type of glaucoma to be diagnosed by examination of anterior chamber with slit lamp. Dark room test and water drinking test to induce high pressure is to be done. It can be open angle or angle closer glaucoma or oclusion pupil. Treatment is oral by tablet diamox. Drops like tenalol and pilocarpine be used on advice of doctor. Operation like trabeculectomy,laser application for iridotomy can be decided by doctor. Monitoring by regular taking of IOT is to be done.Floaters are degenerative bodies in vitreous can be detected by ophthalmoscopy preferably by indirect to cover wider field. Exclude holes,tear and marginal detachment. It is to be reviewed every 6 months.
