Question : I just discovered a few days ago a rash or fungus on my left upper buttocks flowing from the inner part of buttocks down the side of my buttocks. Looks like a bruise but has some dry areas. Just returned from Punta Cana but did not noticed this. Also looks like a long ziggly varicose vein.

While in Punta Cana I received a full body scrub. Not sure if this is the cause. I have applied Alcohol, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Cortaid.

Not sure if I can take a photo. Weird area.No pain or itching originally. That's why I never noticed it. Was checking out my XXXXXXX and saw it a few days after I returned from Punta Cana.

Brief Answer:
Looks like lichen planus, harmless skin condition

Detailed Answer:
HI again

I have seen the attached pictures .
You seem to have developed linear lichen planus .
Now first of all, I would assure you that this is a harmless skin condition . The only problem is that it can cause discomfort in the form of itching.
You need to apply a topical steroid cream like Cortizone 10 over the affected areas twice a day .
Avoid application of mustard oil over it.
If it is too itchy or irritating, then you can apply something like olive oil or coconut oil over it twice a day.
This skin condition might take sometime to heal completely . You need to apply the medicine regularly. You can follow up with your local doctor for confirmation of the diagnosis .
