Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. So, do not assume that the medicines will make the fever go away instantly. You need to be patient.
Formula milk may be hard to tolerate during such occasions. I would insist you to try to keep her only on breast milk (along with rice based semi solids). You should burp the baby for at least 15-20 mins after each feed. All you need to do is to hold the baby head end elevated for this duration. I hope things would be fine.
If your child has fever with temperature more than 100°F, you need to give paracetamol or acetaminophen (P-250, Crocin or Tylenol) to it bring down. Also use tepid sponging. If paracetamol is not effective in bringing down the temperature, you need to use Meftal-P (mefenamic acid) which is more effective.
Please be patient. Let me know if I could help further.
