Question : Monocytes are way high. What do you think? I did have a little fever the day before and soarthroat. Can that be the cause or should I investigate further. My doctor said all was good until I checked the results myself.

                                    Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
We look at all proportions and the entire report to make a call. The monocytes alone are no big concern. Besides, they are not way too off from the acceptable upper limit.
The plan would be to look on subsequent blood counts to see if this is persistent.
I will not recommend any separate testing to follow up on this only. we would review future records done for other reasons.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
