Question : My husband has intermittent soreness/pain in his left buttocks, thigh and/or calf causing a profound limp. He had a right knee replacement in 2012. He had severe frostbite while in the military about thirty years ago. This pain is not seemingly joint pain, but it does seem chronic.

I, inadvertently listed him as female instead of male.

It is possible that the pain and limp could be due to particle arthritis of the left hip.

I would advise him to use a walking stick on the right side, apply warm packs to the affected region, avoid squatting, cross leg sitting, climbing stairs.

Do get an Xray of the left hip to look for arthritic changes.
