Question : I have always had a regular 27-30 day cycle. I am now 3 weeks late on my period. Pregnancy test is negative (actively trying to conceive). I have had a private ultrasound scan to see what's going on and I have a cyst on my right ovary. Will the cyst resolve itself my GP isn't concerned and says my cycle should start within 2 weeks. I will upload my blood reports and ultrasound scan. Please explain the ultrasound scan to me and all I want to know is will my periods come back naturally please or do I need to contact my Gynaecologist? Many thanks in advance. Also do you see that I can conceive naturally with my reports? Husband semen analysis and my hormone profile all are good. I have not had tubes tested as been told don't need this test as of yet as all looks good. Do you agree?

Brief Answer:
PCOS likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns .

I have reviewed the reports. Your blood reports are normal.
However, your ultrasound shows a complex ovarian cyst which is likely to be a haemorrhagic cyst.
Both the ovaries are also showing multiple follicles, which are present in polycystic ovarian syndrome.
PCOS is associated with irregular menstrual periods and difficulty in conceiving.
I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly treated for PCOS.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Periods will come back normally

Hi dear,
Periods are likely to come back normally.
Possibility of haemorrhagic cyst is more as it has internal echoes.

Brief Answer:
Repeat ultrasound should be done

Hi dear, you should get a repeat ultrasound in 2-3 weeks to assess the condition of cyst.
