Question : I am 71 years old. What started as an irritation of the corner of the lip 6 months ago has now developed into light spots or patches. I was first treated with a 5-flouro uracil cream which resulted in sores forming but was not a cure. I was then treated for a yeast infection and it clearly was not yeast. What was one patch two weeks ago is now clearly at least 5 patches. My primary care physician is out of town and I am not sure what to do. The rapid expansion of the problem is the worry. The emergency room is a possibility but not one I like.
Brief Answer:
Seems to be vitiligo, mometasone cream & tacrolimus ointment
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Health Care Magic
According to your complaints it could be vitiligo.
If I were your treating doctor, I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like Mometasone cream on the affected area in the morning and Tacrolimus ointment on the spots at night.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
