Question : Occasionally at night, I hear loud noises that apparently are in my head since no one else in the house hears them. I heard in the news recently that it might be a neurological thing. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Please go for Neurologist's evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Tinnitus or loud noises in head where there is no noise outside may be caused by a number of conditions such, aging, drugs side effects, vascular malformations inside skull, acoustic neuroma etc.

But if there's any associated Voices, then it may be a psychiatric issue (hallucinations more specifically ).

Getting evaluated by a Neurologist should offer more information about the cause and management will be done accordingly.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Please let me know if I can assist further.

Take care.
