
What Do My BP Readings Indicate?

Question : I am 72 years old and my morning glucose level is +/ - 160 and my morning BP is 50/150 is there an emergency to see a doctor . Present medicines I take Serteraline 25 but I am on withdrawal stage after taking it for 3 months. I have prescription for blood pressure and cholesterol which I stopped taking for 2 moths now.

At the age of 72 years target blood pressure should be less then or equal to 140/90 mm of hg. Your blood pressure is almost normal.
However the fasting blood sugar is a bit high, so you should consult a diabetologist for it. Tablet Metformin 500mg once before breakfast would be started after discussing with the diabetologist initially.
