Question : A recent MRI six month follow-up indicates die fuse heterogeneous bone marrow. This was also indicated six months ago. At that time lesions were also noted the largest being 1.2 cm. A bone marrow biopsy in February did not support the radiologists suggestion of primary consideration should be given to multiple myeloma. I have ITP and M Gus as well as a blood clot in disorder. Should I be concerned? What would you suggest as the next step?

                                    Brief Answer:
Regular follow up is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A heterogenous bone marrow with detectable lesions is suggestive of a primary bone marrow pathology like multiple myeloma. It can be an age related change also. In case the biopsy report is normal then it is best to monitor these lesions and get a follow up scan done after 6 months to see any change.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
