Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Blood pressure is catagorised as
(systolic) in mm Hg Bottom number (diastolic) in mm Hg Your category*
Below 120 and Below 80 Normal blood pressure
Between 120-139 or Between 80-89 Prehypertension
Between 140-159 or Between 90-99 Stage 1 hypertension
160-179 or 100-109 Stage 2 hypertension
Above it is stage 3 hypertension ( severe hypertension)
Your blood pressure comes in severe hypertension,Better can be termed hypertensive urgency condition. You should visit a cardiologist and few base line investigations of cardiology should be done like-
2d echo to see the effect of blood pressure on heart
E.c.g
Lipid profile
stress test once the blood pressure is settled.
your cardiologist will start you on a combination of two or three anti hypertensives initially like calcium channel blockers amlodipine mild diuretics, nitrate may also be started initially to lower the blood pressure rapidly.Dont switch over from lisinopril to amlodipine on your own,Just meet your cardiologist and let him decide.
Thanks
