I did hba1c sunce about 5 minths & it was good .
And i did postprandial blood sugar test (2 hours after lunch) & itwas 87 .
But why you ask me to do those tests while you ate telling me that my readings are fine in fasting & after meals .
Pls note that the dr of my company (insurance) told me before when i asked him to do hb1AC test that it is not for diagnosing diabetes but it is to see ho well the diabets controlled for the diabetics .

Brief Answer:
Hba1c is for diagnosis as well as monitoring

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Sorry for the delay in reply. I was travelling.

Glucose tolernce test is to test if your body is able to handle glucose load. If it is abnormal, then it may predict the chances of diabetes in the future.

Hba1c is not only for monotoring. For the last 3-4 years, it is also has been recognized as a tool for diagnosis not just for monitoring. HbA1c of more than 6.5% is diagnostic of diabetes. Check out XXXXXXX Diabetes Association ( ADA) website.
