Question : My reports showed Predominantly normocytic normochromic with macrocytes and ovalocytes. What does that mean? Also 2 months back I had taken Happi D tablet which reacted in my body and got swollen half face. Now also I get a swollen face and rashes. Are these symptoms related to the result?

Brief Answer:
Possible Mixed Anemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern.

Happi-D is not related to the side effects you have mentioned.

The blood picture you mentioned represents mixed or dual anemia.

This is caused by a deficiency of both Iron/folic acid as well as Vit B12 levels.

For confirmation, I advise you to get Vit D and serum ferritin levels along with Hb%.

Based on the results, oral/parenteral supplementation of Iron-folic acid and B12 can be given.

I also request you to provide me with your age, gender for better assessment.

The swollen face and could be due to water retention in the body.

This needs a complete ultrasound abdomen, Renal function test and Complete Urine analysis to rule out major kidney related issues.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
