Question : I have been back and forth with you about my bronchiectasis. I can't seem to email using the last line of messages.
I had a bronchoscopy and the culture just came back positive for AFB. Can you tell em a little about what this means?

This means that you are suffering from tuberculosis.

I can understand your concern.
AFB means Acid Fast Bacilli-bacteria causing tuberculosis.
It is chronic lung infection. It usually affects upper lobes.
You are diagnosed in Bronchoscopy. So it is confirmed.
You need to take anti tubercular drugs for atleast 6 months.
