Question: HI i met cardiologist today for consultation as my

TRIGLYCERIDES 390

He said he cannot give me cholesterol medication due to the below Liver Profile and asked me to take t-Udiliv 500 for 3 months
ASPARTATE AMINOTRANSFERASE (AST/SGOT) 96
ALANINE AMINOTRANSFERASE (ALT/SGPT) 231

I am a non drinker and have fatty liver.I would like to know the reason for High SGPT
as i am not drinker. Can it be due to fatty liver.I don't exercise and am 33 years old.I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic 2 years back and have been talking gyciphase SR 500 two times and my HVA1C is 5.8 . I am just wondering why t-Udiliv 500 was prescribed to me.Let me know if you need more information.I have attached some assessment reports...

Brief Answer:
SGPT can raised by many factors mentioned below

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for your faith in the health care Magic
I have gone through your question and I understood your problem..

In males it should be lesser than 52 IU/L.It increases in various situations like viral hepatitis, diabetes, liver damage, congestive heart failure, bile duct pathology, etc. Fatty liver can at times raise liver enzymes; but it is important that other causes are ruled out.

You further asked why udilive was prescribed to you. It's to improve the liver function. Increased ALT suggests liver function impairment which your doctor is trying to correct.

I hope my answer was helpful for you . Don't forget to close the discussion if you have no questions.Thank you.
