Brief Answer:
Acute Pancreatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my response.

I have gone through the reports you have attached and it looks like your husband is suffering from acute pancreatitis.

Pancreatitis mimics gastritis but it is more painful than gastritis. It is usually seen in alcoholics and second most common reason being gall stones. Please make sure an Ultrasound abdomen is done to rule out gall stones. The third reason being infection ( most likely to be the cause in your husband's case).

The treatment is with antibiotics and keeping the patient nil by mouth for 3-4 days, and also pain medications.

Most pancreatitis resolve within a week and patient's become better.

Patient's should avoid food rich in fat, they can have a normal diet otherwise once they are treated. Smoking and alcohol are a strict contraindication.

Patient's should undergo a check ultrasound after 2 weeks to see for improvement and pancreatic pseudocyst.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
