Question : Hi
I am looking for a second opinion about my mother's cholangiocarcinoma . Doctors are suggesting not to operate . I am attaching her reports

1. Can you tell me what is the stage of cancer
2. What is the type of cancer ( 1 , 2 ,3A , 3B , 4 )?
3. Is operating is not a choice here

She is in stage 3 of her disease and her cholangiocarcinoma is type 4

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have gone through the reports

She is in stage 3 of her disease and her cholangiocarcinoma is type 4

Surgery is the only curative treatment at this stage

If she does not want to go ahead with surgery then treatment option consist of chemoradiation but for that bilirubin needs to come down to less than 3

Stent is not a surgery It will only help getting her biirubin down but will not cure her disease
