2. Have i lost weight because of Hiatus Hernia ? Will i be able to ever increase weight or shall remain the same?

3. The allopathy medicines i have been taking gives only temporary effect. Can there be a permanent solution for acid reflux?

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me with more questions.

1. GERD and hiatal hernia are very serious issues. Avoid citrus, coffee, chocolates, tomatoes, fatty'spicy food, onion.

2. Hiatal hernia does not cause weight loss. More than increasing the weight, you try to maintain your BMI between 18-25.

3. Lifestyle changes prevent recurrence of GERD. In addition to the dietary advice mentioned above follow the below mentioned ones also -
- Avoid alcohol and smoking (if you have these habits)
- Go to bed at least 2-3 hours after food
- Follow stress relief methods like meditation

Regards,
Dr.R.K.
