Question : Hi, i need to speak to an ENT specialist. I've attached my CT scan and xray report.
Brief Answer:
Mucous retention cysts are more common.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. From the description, this seems to be a mucus retention cyst.
2. Dentigerous cysts are rare. They are associated with the crown of that particular tooth. Mere projection of the root of a tooth into the cyst does not relate with a dentigerous cyst.
3. Upload the CT scan images for a better assessment.
4. Dentigerous cysts need excision or marsupialisation. Mucus retention cysts need treatment only if they are larger than 50% of the height of the maxillary sinus.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
