Question : Hi, my wife recently completed her maternal fetal exam for 34 weeks....I have attached the reports for it....as you can see the AC is at the 3% and overall at 15%....what kind of indicator is this for future growth? Should we be concerned about current health of baby and future health? Background about us...my wife does take prenatals everyday along with synthroid 50mg
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I have seen the attached report and understand your concerns.
AC is on lower side definitely but at 34 weeks it has less importance especially in the presence of good weight of 2 kg and normal FL (Femur Length) which is the best parameter to detect future growth.
So all in all nothing to worry about and just keep a regular follow up with her gynecologist.
All the best.

Hi, where do you see the weight on the report? Also, do you suggest early delivery? Isn't HC also low? How does current AC of 3% factor in future growth/height/weight?
Brief Answer:
No need of preterm delivery
Detailed Answer:
At this gestation FL is the vest parameter as rest everything can have variation which is non significant many a times.
Weight of the baby is nicely mentioned in report dear.
Usual weight gain after 32 weeks is 100-300 grams and thus by 37 weeks her weight will most likely cross 2.5 kgs which is sufficient for a normal birth weight.
There seems no need of preterm delivery and she will deliver a healthy baby at expected time most likely.
