Question : I have had a lot of pain on my left arm since September 2016. I have gone to a physical therapist outside of my health coverage and have gotten some relief. The pain continues and is getting worse. I can feel a lot of lumps all over my upper arm. When I touch the lumps they ache. I cannot lay on my left side as my upper part of my arm hurts so much. I have seen an orthopedic doctor...he first suggested an x-Ray, then an ultrasound, then an MRI. I just had an MRI with contrast done. I called my doctor to get the results and his secretary said he would not return until the 27th of March.
Please give me some information on how I can see someone who can advise me on what to do next.

Brief Answer:
Can be muscle spasm or capsulitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the left arm with relief on physiotherapy can be due to a muscle spasm or shoulder capsulitis. This can be diagnosed after an MRi scan. Taking oral muscle relaxants in combination with mild pain killers will help. You can do a hot compress and apply a local analgesic gel for relief till then.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
1) Stem cells and platelet injections can help in healing partial thickness tears only and their efficacy varies from person to person.
2) Hyaluronic acid injections will act as a lubricant will reduce the joint pain but cannot help in healing a tear. More helpful in arthritic changes.
3) the efficacy of natural joint supplements is doubtful as no proper scientific evidence is present.
4) The exercises can best be suggested by a physiotherapist after an examination and assessment of range of motion.
Hope my answer is helpful.
