Brief Answer:
It is acute leukemia

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

This is a case of acute leukemia, received steroids intermittently for 3 months. Steroids have activity against this and hence probably it has controlled it somewhat. But this period of steroid treatment without other antileukemia drugs is likely to promote resistance.

There is no stage of leukemia. Further typing is required to stratify into risk groups. Cure is feasible but cure rate varies from 60% in low risk group to 20% in high risk group. Treatment is Chemotherapy. It is intensive for first few months then less intensive for next 2 years. As it involves not only Chemotherapy drugs but also repeated hospital admissions, antibiotics for infections and blood transfusions, it can be quite costly in a private setup.

I am not sure if any NGO in your location. But if you attend Tata Memorial, as advised, they will be able to recommend some.

Hope this helps.
Regards
