Brief Answer:
Non alcoholic hepatosteatosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Your mother has fat deposition /accumulation in the liver cells and it is rapidly increasing because of various reasons. The commonest reasons, not personalized for your mother because of lack of details, insulin resistance, obesity, lack of exercise, diet practices or any surgery that could have happened.

At this time she should be under the care of hepatologist/gastroenterologist with the help of dietitian and regular exercise program. She needs further testing too.

Common dietary practices that help, but exhaustive, are:
Avoid refined carbohydrates like white rice, white bread, noodles, and pasta from the diet.

Prefer only whole grain food, fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits.

Processed junk foods contain excess greasy fats needs to be removed. Breakfast cereals are also processed highly and should be avoided. Likewise, baked goods like cakes, cookies, scones, puff pastry, require excess fats for baking purposes and needs to be eliminated in her diet.

Deep fried sweet and savories also to be avoided by the person. Meat, especially red meats like lamb, pork and beef, and meat products that contain animal fats needs to be avoided.

Dairy rich products like rasgulla, cheese, butter, margarine, mayonnaise, ice-creams and fruit yogurt also to be avoided.

Artificial sweeteners to be avoided for breakdown of these additives will exert the liver.

She has to cut down the weight which may be very tough but at least 10% weight loss in 6 months is highly beneficial for her overall quality of life.
