Question: sir, my semen analysis result is giving below. time of collection-09.35 am, time of liquifaction-10.05 am, volume -1 ml, colour- opaque grey,viscosity- normal, PH - Alkaline, Sperm count- No spermatozoa seen(Azoospermia), PUS cells- 1-3 /HPF. what does this report means?

Thanks for posting your query on Health Care Magic.

The interpretation of semen analysis is as follows:

The physical attributes- volume, pH and viscosity are within normal limits.

The microscopic examination shows presence of infection in the semen (suggested by presence of pus cells) possibly because of epididymitis or orchitis.

However, there is absence of any sperms in the semen,a condition called as Azoospermia.

Antibiotic course can be given to get rid off infection after consulting to a physician or urologist.

The next step is to get a ultrasound of scrotum, testicular aspiration cytology and hormonal study under the guidance of urologist to find out the underlying cause of azoospermia.
