Question : I have been diagnosed with thyroid. In medical reports TSH level showing 15 (normal range <5)
Post this I have undergone one more test i.e. ANTI TPO the result is 82 (Normal range <60)
Doctor asked me take Thyronorm 25 mcg medicine on daily basis in the morning with empty stomach.

Apart from thyroid, one more problem is that, during these investigation, I have gone through ultrasound,
As per reports , there small enlargement is prostate size is 22. And 70cc urine retention
Separate medicine is going on from last 10 days for urine problem. As per doctor its due to throroid. Plz guide for this too

Medication as of Now

Prescribed by Physician
1. Thronorm 25mg Once a day in morning (Since 28th Jan)
2. Atorica 10(Atorvastatin) Since 28th XXXXXXX Earlier it was prescribed on daily basis. But from 8th Feb it is prescribed on alternative day till 27th Feb
3. Prostonil Once a day since 29th XXXXXXX once a day

Prescribed by Urologist
Bacstol (Trimethoprim 100mg) Twice a day(from 30th Jan) for 15 days
Folvite (Folic Acid) Once a day (from 30th Jan) for 15 days

From last 2 months I feeling pain in buttock bone near anal. And in low pelvic area.
Ultrasound reports attached for reference. urine retention increased in a month from 70 cc to 88 cc in month. Prostate size increased in a month from 22 to 24.5cms in month.
Please suggest what should be done and secondly are these reports alarming.
What kind of medication should be followed.
Some time I feel the retention and requirement of re-urniation but it does not happened every time.
Secondly plz confirm if any change in lifestyle or eating habits are required
Also i have uploaded the medical reports along with ultrasound report, need your expert advice

Brief Answer:
You have bladder Outlet Obstruction with hyperthyroidism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts and reports of investigations done that you have posted it appears that you have Hyperthyroidism with Bladder Outlet Obstruction probably due to Fibrous Prostate.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have urinary symptoms like increased frequency for urination ,urgency for urination ?
2) How is your flow whether weak, moderate or normal ?
3) Do you have nocturnal frequency for urination?

The ultrasound finding of significant residual urine (70 -88 ml ) strongly suggests Bladder Outlet obstruction mostly due to fibrous Prostate and needs to be evaluated by doing following basic tests .
1) Uroflowmetry.
2) Endoscopic examination of a bladder and urethra(Cystoscopy) by a Urologist to confirm the diagnosis of Bladder Neck Obstruction.

You do not have enlarged Prostate ,Normal volume of the prostate at this age is 18-20 gms.

Continue medicines that you have been prescribed and discuss with your Urologist about efficacy of the use of drug like Tomsulosin once daily and doing investigations I have suggested to arrive at final diagnosis .This will help us to plan long term action and line of treatment .

Continue taking Thyronorm for hyperthyroidism as suggested by your Dr

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
