Question : I just read my urine test results and epithelial and it was 40 - 50 - I wasn't told about this - I found out when I was reviewing my complete blood work?
Brief Answer:
Epithelial cells in urine may be due to many reasons.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM
Your findings suggests raised epithelial cells in urine.
Epithelial cells may be normally secreted in urine.Increased epithelial cells in urine may be due to UTI,kidney disease, contamination and some other conditions.
I presume there are no pus cells in your report.
So,increased epithelial cells may be due to contamination.
However,you may need clinical correlation.
Renal function test and ultrasound of KUB may be advised after evaluation.
Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.
