What Do Persistent Canker Sores And Tiredness Indicate?

Question: I had a exposure around 3 years ago with a condom that broke while having sex with someone that had hiv. She did not know at the time she had it until 2 weeks after we had sex. I was so scared by this I ran out and bought the oraquick home oral test and it was negative at these weeks 2,6,9,14,24,52. I also tested at a place that gives free hiv test but it was the same test but called Oraquick advance oral swab. I then at 2.7 months took another oraquick home swab test and negative again. I have had so many illnesses since this and this year I get sick once a month with a cold for a week or two and I have never done this before. I get a lot of canker sores and feel tired a lot. Anyways I have not had a hiv blood test just oral and I and thinking I am positive but not enough oral antibodies. I had a CBC 2 weeks ago and all were good I know only a big test can tell you if you have hiv but this far into it would a CBC blood test point you to do more testing. I am sick of living in fear your feedback is appreciated and do you think I could test that far out with the oral test and get a false negative?

Brief Answer:
You are definitely risk free from HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Haroldf,

Welcome to HCM.

The risk of getting HIV from single act of unprotected sex even with HIV positive female partner is very less and your test result for oral ora-quick test even after 2.7 years of the exposure is negative then there is nothing to worry at all because the result is 100% conclusive and you are absolutely risk free from HIV.

Your past illnesses, tiredness or other things like chancre sores may be due to any other reason but not at all related to HIV so consult your physician to isolate the cause and follow the treatment regime as per the advice. Be relaxed, forget about the episode and move on in life happily as there is no risk in your case.

Thank You

So just to ease my mind would a CBC blood test at 3 years point towards HIV if I was in fact infected....such as give hints or clues that something else is going on? The accuracy of 92% of the test scares me and hard to place trust in it.

Brief Answer:
Only HIV test will give real picture about infection.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Haroldf,

Welcome back and thanks for following-up.

It is only the HIV test which can rule out the viral infection not CBC or any other so don't get scared or worried. Also the accuracy of any HIV test whether ora-quick or other is 100% after 3 months because the window period for HIV varies from 15 days to 3 months. Allay the fear or anxiety related to HIV and move on in life.

Thank You
Kind regards
