Question : hi doctor , my wife 33 years of age is having cough since last 5 days . In between she has taken honitus syrup but no significant improvement . she has mild fever alao and cough is dry. also it increaSes when she lies down.

Hi,

Since its been more than 5 days, I suggest that you get a blood test done called complete blood count and a chest X-ray PA view done. It may be helpful in suggesting a diagnosis. Antibiotics are only helpful in bacterial infection.

If its viral, it does take 5-10 days to recover.

She can take a cough syrup like TusqD cough syrup 1 or 2 times a day.
