What Do Recurrent Inflammation And Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: I have an intermittent inflammation with unusual vaginal discharge that varies from watery to slimy grayish color. Urination and the signals to urinate are painful. The episode lasts for hours. The pain goes down my legs. The doctor diagnosed me for e coli infection, but I think I had two different things. The pain I had in my kidneys subsided. She gave me mitronidozole, but I was only able to take two doses due to side effects. She gave me Keflex (Two seven day treatments) I still have the intermittent symptoms that seems to involve the whole area. I have been back three times. I think I am being pushed aside, but I still have a problem

Brief Answer:
High vaginal swab required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about vaginal discharge.

Following is my reply :

1) Vaginal infection seems to be the main reason behind the discharge which was not identified.

2) You need high vaginal swab culture and sensitivity test to identify the type of organism causing the infection and the antibiotics it is sensitive to.

3) This vaginal infection untreated has caused the urinary tract infection (UTI). Only UTI was treated and not vaginal infection which should have been treated.

4) Please get high vaginal swab culture and sensitivity done which will help you to get relieved vaginal discharge as well as UTI.

Let me know if you need anymore clarification.

Regards,
Dr.Soumya.
