Question : our 12 month old woke up today with red rings in the fatty fold around his ankles. Is this normal?

Is there any itching if yes, it may be-

Intertrigo is a yeast infection of skin folds caused by Candida albicans.
May be due to Hot, humid weather, Tight or abrasive underclothing.

You can try antifungal creams such as clotrimazole and miconazole after consulting with doctor. Equally important in the treatment of intertrigo is keeping the skin folds as dry as possible.
