Question : during an erection my husbands penis is skinny at the base and swells in the middle like a thick ring around it and he said it is uncomfortable at times.

Based on the facts that you have posted thinness of skin during erection has no significance .However a constricting band in the middle of the shaft of the penis needs to be examined by a qualified Urologist .

It may be due to a scar tissue formation around the shaft of the penis .

Get ultrasound Scanning of the penis done to confirm the diagnosis .

Further treatment will be decided by him depending upon clinical findings and result of ultrasound scanning .
