Question: Hello doctor,
I am suffering with small bumps on toungue which caused by sharp teeth...I got smoothened by dentist....still it is irritating, but not like earlier. ..not severe like before smoothening. ..am getting pain in ear also....what to do

Read your query and understand your concern small bump on tongue could be due to chronic irritation on sharp cusps of teeth resulting in frictional keratosis .

For this you dont have to be worried so much as you have consulted oral surgeon and gone through treatment rounding of sharp cusps now you can apply local application of ointment like Mucopain or Mugel on tongue two -three times a day by consulting with your local doctor .

I will also suggest you to do these remedies :
-Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing twice daily .
- Use chlorhexidine mouthwash regularly .
- Do warm saline rinses .
-Avoid hot and spicy food .
- You can also take vitamin B supplements with folic acid by consulting with your local doctor .

Hello doctor,
Thanks for your reply.....am suffering with this since 2 months...I got teeth smoothening before 13 days ....irritations appears in different places of tongue .....usually how many days it takes to heal completely after teeth smoothening?

Read your query mostly lesion take time of 1 to 3 weeks after removal of causative agent .

I will suggest you to apply ointment like Mugel or triamicinolone acetonide ointment on tongue and take balance diet. Start taking vitamin B supplement tablets like A to Z or Cobadex CZS by consulting with your local doctor.

If symptoms persist then consult oral surgeon for examination and investigations like cytology or biopsy to rule out the cause.

Hello madam,
Today I visited my local doctor,he considered my problem as BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME and prescribed BETADINE GARGLE and QUADRAGEL along with SUPRADYN tabs and ANTOXID caps.

One of my friend advised to take ALPHA LIPOIC ACID tablets for fast recovery from burning mouth syndrome....shall I use this??
If you advised this what will the dosage?
